Doug Harrington (1 October, 1966 - 14 November, 2006) stalking crayfish at his great-aunts' house in Upstate New York, summer, 1975.
That's his brother Adam's hair, fuzzy in the left foreground. Adam has put together a celebration of his brother's life in video-slide form and posted it on YouTube today. Please go visit, if you have a few minutes to spare.
A Satchel of Ordinary Treasure contains accounts of day-to-day life in the early 20th century in Upstate New York. Posts will be taken mostly from family members' reminiscences.
PicShers contains one post and picture for each day of the year from the Harrington images archive. More images from the archive (and current ones) can be found on my Flickr photostream.

A lovely tribute to a full and all-too-short life. He was and is obviously much-loved.
Once again, your family shows the best ways to be a family. That was truly beautifully done.
That's a lovely video tribute by Adam. Doug was a lucky man to be so loved. Happy Birthday, dude.
Thanks folks. He surely lived his 40 years on this planet to the fullest. He is greatly missed.
